MCA-I Teams Up With Atlanta Avid Users Group @ SCAD
January 18th, 6pm - 8pm

MCA-I Atlanta will team up with Atlanta Avid Users Group for its first general session meeting of the New Year at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD - Atlanta) from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, on Thursday, January 18th. MCA-I Atlanta and AAUG will meet concurrently at SCAD to make for an unusually successful evening of great networking. Members and guests will enjoy relevant meeting material, and spend time enjoying the stimulating environment that the college and its galleries have to offer.
 
Here is the tentative agenda (subject to change):
 
6:00 – 7:00PM       Arrivals, Socialize, Networking, Refreshments & Hors‘d oeuvres
7:00 – 7:15PM       MCA-I General Announcements – Welcome AAUG
7:15 – 8:00PM       SCAD College Presentation, Facility Tour & Gallery Hop
 
MCA-I and Atlanta Avid Users Group will have the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the SCAD-Atlanta facility. There is a concurrent Gallery Hop being held within the SCAD-Atlanta Galleries and the members are welcome to tour SCAD-Atlanta's three galleries.  A shuttle bus will be running between SCAD-Atlanta and the Woodruff Arts Center where the Atlanta College of Art Gallery features the work of artist Steve Mumford's titled "From Bagdad and Beyond". 
 
The Savannah College of Art and Design is a private, nonprofit institution accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award bachelors and masters degrees. Founded in 1978 in Savannah, Georgia, SCAD now has locations in Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia, and Lacoste, France, as well as an e-Learning program.

John Osgood

As a boy, John Osgood was enthralled by the maze of wires, the glow of tubes, and the array of other parts inside the family’s stereo console and television. He remembers many trips with his father to use the tube testers at nearby drugstores. His father gave him a two-transistor radio kit from Radio Shack for his birthday one year. When he was ten, he got a Radio Shack AM radio kit with five tubes. He and his father spent several weeks putting it together and it worked perfectly. In an effort to raise money for the general fund for the organization, we are inviting sponsors to partner with us. The cost of the sponsorship is $1,250, and in exchange each sponsor will get the following benefits:

  1. 28 X 38 easel signage displayed at all meetings
  2. Table signs where hors d’ oeuvres are served at each meeting
  3. Logo placement on our local website
  4. Logo placement on all announcements to all Members, Board and Executive Committee – minimum of 50 sent via email per year
  5. A 12 – 15 minute presentation at one of the general session meetings
  6. Announcements at each meeting encouraging members to use the services of the Sponsors
